MOTU & Full-Duplex Recording and Playback

Does anyone know if the MOTU, specifically the Traveler or 828, offers full-duplex recording and playback? I'm just now learning about full duplex and was wondering everyone's opinion on it. Is it a "must have" feature or not? Thanks.

Justin,
What you said is absolutely correct, it is as simple as playback and recording at the same time. I have been using a Motu with logic for about 5 years and this has always been possible otherwise multitrack recording would be a real pain. I forgot to say, full duplex means if you have a 8 in 8 out interface, then you can use all ins and outs at the same time.
Regards,
Kevin.

Full-duplex recording is a term, that at one time, separated the "basic" computer sound card from the "specialized" card. This was before firewire and usb.
PCI Sound cards like the digidesign audiomedia 3 and emagic audiowerk offered , for the first time, the ability to multitrack.
Seeing that term makes me realize how far computer recording has come within the last 10 years. Truly amazing!

It's much like networking with a full-duplex or half-duplex connection to your computer. a full-duplex 100base-t connection will work a lot faster since it can send and receive data at the same time and doesn't have to alternate. I'm guessing the company you looked at enjoyed the buzz word. It's possible, though I don't know for sure, that a full duplex interface might improve performance of latency... I can see how it could, but I may be talking out of my behind.
