FIPS GETTING INSTALLED

I have just bought a 15in Mac Book Pro. Latest OS. Applied all Software Updates & 2011 MS Office. Somehow FIPS is being installed and it hangs the whole OS. Genius Bar has reinstalled the OS adn I can get it to boot. Left it on overnight to back-up to Timecapsule. Now, it won't boot again due to FIPS installed. I know this because I put it into Verbose Mode and it hangs at FIPS.

Any ideas as to why? The only solution that the Genuis Bar says is to re-install. This looks to be a Catch-22 at this point.

Any ideas?

I updated to 10.8.2 which after that happened, there was a firmware update that popped up on the software update (I always run it again just to see what if anything couldbe there) and saw that. It dealt with a freezing issue for the 2012 15in MBP. I ran that and it resolved the FREEZING issue. I do not beleive it was a FIPS issue since I reloaded the OS twice with once from the Apple Genius. And the FIPS thing kept showing up.
