Go to your carrier's store & get a new sim card if you want him to use the phone with service. If you're gonna use it as a touch, just leave the deactivated sim in the phone.

wireless provider. If he will be on your account, contact your wireless
provider to get the old iPhone transferred to his number - this will entail
having to get a new SIM card. The iPhone 4 will not operate as a phone
without a SIM card.

Sep 16, 2012 12:41 PM in response to aliok63by aliok63,My biggest concern is if he is going from Android to iPhone on the Verizon network, I want to make sure him getting a new SIM card won't cause him to lose his unlimited data. They told us if he obtains an iphone from someone or pays retail price, he can keep his unlimited data. Just concerned a new SIM card will be considered a change to the plan.
