Selling my iPad 2, steps involved to save my apps and factory restore it?

Hey,

I'm selling my iPad 2 to finance iPad 3, can someone please explain what should I do so that all my apps/data/photos are backed up to my iTunes, and a way to factory restore it so that the new owner will have no access to my personal stuff?

Thanks in advance!

Transfer all purchases into iTunes, backup the iPad and then sync with iTunes.

Transfer purchases.

How to backup

When you are ready to sell the iPad - erase it - Settings>General>Reset> Erase all content and settings.

Connect the new iPad to iTunes and when given the option during activation - restore from the backup of the old iPad and then sync with iTunes
