Time machine stuck in 'cleaning up' phase

Hi Everyone

I use two seperate external drives for time machine and one of them gets stuck on "cleaning up"

The other one is fine

Any ideas would be appreciated.

As a matter of interest, I have had about three different drives fail using them on time machine over the last few years.

Is there any way that time machine could be cuasing this in any way?
