Hi, How do I paste in Pages without losing background image? Ex: I want to paste an image on top of another but would like both images to blend together. (posting lines on the image of a stamp to create a used postcard). Thank you!

Reduce the Opacity on the top image.

Select the top most image > Inspector > Graphic > Opacity
But it sounds like you should be using a pdf file of the lines with a transparent background, that you have to create in a drawing program or use the drawing tool at the bottom of the Shapes menu.

Thank you, I will try that.
The part of the curvy lines image between the lines must be transparent.
If you have an image of these lines on a solid colour background, then:
Select the image.
Go Format (menu) > Instant Alpha
Click on the background colour.
Here's an example.
One copy of the curvey line image has had instant Alpha applied, the other is in its original state. The green bar is placed behind both of these images.
