I Can't Copy a seemingly Compatible MP4 Song to my Ipod Classic

Hi Guys,

I've been working on this problem for a few days and am really frustrated. A few days ago I purchased "Serah's Theme" off of itunes and tried to copy it to my ipod. However, I keep getting a message that says that it didn't copy because it cannot be played on my ipod.

I have the most recent Itunes on my HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop.

Stats about the song:

Format: mp4

Bit Rate: 256 kbps

Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz

I read up on acceptable formats and it seems to be compatible, so I have no idea what's wrong. I have also tried hooking up my ipod, going to my device menu and checking the box that says to have higher bit rate songs converted to 128 kbps AAC

I have tried to convert it to AAC in itunes but when I try that it says something about there being an "unknown error." I have also tried to convert it through a site called Zamzar and received an email that there was a problem with the conversion process ( they weren't specific about what the problem was, just that an errr report was sent or something).

I would have just added on to a similar thread, but I didn't see an option. Anyway, I am desperate for a solution.

Thanks for your time!
