What does Error code -36 mean?

I'm trying to copy some movie clips from one external drive to another and I get the following message:


"The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “clip-2012-05-06 13;06;17.dv” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)"

Thankh you both.


My original post got cut off but I was saying that I'd searched for an answer but couldn't find anything about this specific error code.


I was successfully able to copy the very same folder containing this problem file to my internal HD. I experienced the message only when copy from one external to another external. The target external drive has two partitions; one is Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) while the other is Windows NTFS. I'm copying to the OS X partition so I'd be surprised if the other partition has anything to do with it.
