Hi, I just want to say thank you Klaus1, I had this problem too for a while, it was really annoying me.

I googled it and I'm so glad I found your advice.

I found your instructions very clear (I'm not good with computers)

I deleted the stuff as instructed (some I didn't have) and now the problem has gone!

    Amazing! Thank you again!

Hi I need some help. This used to do this on my old iMac (like snow leopard, bought in 2010 old) all the time and I never bothered fixing it. The iMac died in its sleep two nights ago, and I'm now running yosemite on a new mac mini. I had a time machine backup from January (luckeeeee) and just brought the whole back up over. But the safari toolbar issue has followed us to the new OS. I went to remove those library files...and I cannot find that directory. searching library on my harddrive brings up at least ten folders, and they all have addresses that I just don't recognise. Is there something else I should be doing on Yosemite? Any help would be awesome, thank you.

Also, running Adware Medic will also help remove it without searching through the library.

You can find it here. http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
