How much is an Iphone 4 (8gb, or 16gb), without any contract, as of today? I have a contract with AT&T but am curious about buying a new phone since i cannot upgrade as of now.

Why don't you look on the Apple web site and find out? There is no longer a 16GB iPhone 4. Only 8GB.
I checked, however, they only seem to show prices for upgrading or creating a contract which is 0$. I read also that they reccomend going to my local apple retail store but id rather have an idea of the cost first before even bothering going there.
Check a local website like Craigslist? I am advertising mine on my local website for $200 for Iphone 4 so that seems to be the going rate.
