What does this notice mean? "This computer's local hostname...has been changed"

What does this notice mean: "This computer's local hostname...has been changed to (same name but with a "-2.local" included)? I have two macs on the same wireless network, but only my wife and I use them (her only an hour or so a week.) My wife works for a university and I notice this happens after she logs on to her office emails from home. Is this notice anything to worry about?
