Questions on upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion on MacBook.

Hi! 🙂 I'm kinda new to this and could really use your help. I own a MacBook with Mac OS X (10.6.8) and it's starting to get a bit "slow". I'm interested in upgrading to Mountain Lion through the App Store but I have a couple of questions before I do.

1. How do I find out if my MacBook can run Mountain Lion or if it's "too old"?

2. I would like to start fresh and erase everything on my hard drive when I install Mountain Lion. Is this possible without having an OS disc?

Sorry if I sound stupid, but I'm not that good with technical stuff hehe! 😉

Bimbo Boy, the short answer is "yes". Here's a list of the Macs that work with Mountain Lion:

However if you want the best possibile performance you should install the maximum possible amount of RAM in your MacBook.
