Is anyone else having issues with their iMessage? It keeps saying waiting activation and it has been for the past half hour. SMS are sending fine and all my other internet app ect are working as normal. Its so annoying!!! Help please 😟

I have the same exact problem. Last time this happened, I just reformatted my phone and it started working again... but give it a few hours. At least you know it's not just you, so it's probably a problem on Apples side.
Do you think this has anything to do with the carrier you are on?
Not working in Canada. Went down about 3 hours ago.
Not working here in New York - Verizon service - has been about 2 hours down now - says "sending" several iMessages to a few different contacts - two are on Verizon and one is on Sprint, so I don't know where the problem lies.
Hope it is not like icloud email that took forever to get back up.

Come on apple, dashboard of service status would be easy enough......
That is not an acceptable answer. Just because they are updating to ios6 doesn't mean they should take down a service without notifying everyone they are doing that. They had the issue with icloud email last week and it took 2 days to get it back up and all of us that depended on email being there were left in the dark to what is going on.

Not working in the UK. Its really bugging me now, i suppose i'll just wait, until tommorow morning. But here is my problem so far;
I turn my iMessage on, and it says waiting for activation. Then three minutes into it pops up with the read reciept and other items. But its still waiting for activation.
Please help 😟

iMessage on my iPhone 4s isn't working at all, my messages just say "sending" but never go. I live in Ohio and have sprint.

My iMessage has just delivered but its still waiting activation?! I will find out whether it has actually sent or not once my boyfriend reads/replies! Seems odd though!
