Q: Hello:
Dear Friends:
I am using FCP 7 and Snow Leopard. Ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard my system began to act funny crash periodically. I have been crashing recently and my video card folks AJA tell me it looks like a memory issue (maloc) based on crash reports. That seems to be more and more a possible problem. They told me to raise my memory cache since I am working with AE Graphics, but have crashed again.
Sometimes when I want a clip to show up in my viewer by placing the play bar on a clip and pressing the F key, a box pops up saying, "Out of memory". I close FCP, re-open and I am able to find the clip in my viewer by pressing F.
I have deleted preferences and have reset the PRAM, I have crashed again. Another funny thing that occurs is the pop up of the "Dropped frames box" when I play the play bar in the unlimited playback mode. I am working with clips from different codeds SD, HD and HD 1920X1080 on a timeline setting of 1280 X 720 and using Magic Bullet Mojo as a color correction software. This software was installed by a friend and don't know if it is contributing to the problem.
BTW, when I crash I notice that some project files wind up in the trash. Aren't they supposed to only end up in the autosave folder??
Has any of this been happening to any of you?
Thanks so much
Ringorod
