Do not Disconnect

Hello -

I just got my new 30 GB iPod. I set it up at 10:00 last night, and the songs from my iTunes library transferred onto the iPod (or so it seemed from what was going on in iTunes). However, at noon today, it still says "Do not Disconnect". The manual only said that 4 hours were required ....

What's going on?/What should I do?

Thanks,

Steven

The answer could be as simple as you have your iPod enabled for disk use. If this option is switched on then the Do Not Disconnect will stay there until you manually eject your iPod.

Connect your iPod and in iTunes go to Preferences>iPod. Under the Music tab see if your iPod set to automatically sync (automatically update songs and playlists) with iTunes and also has a tick in the box marked “enable disk use". Remove this tick and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished updating.

If you have your iPod set to manual update, the box will be greyed out and ticked by default, in that case use Safely remove Hardware icon or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod
