Not able to empty the Trash of Items from Time machine.

When time machine is active and I have moved some old files from the Time Machine disk to the Trash, I cannot empty the trash. I get "error code 8003". If I unplug Time machine, whatever has been moved to the trash from Time Machine gets removed with the Time Machine Disk and reappears when I plug in Time Machione again.

When Time Machine is plugged in and running and I try to remove an item from the trash all the sysytem will do is duplicate the item I try to remove instead of actually remove it from the trash.
