They are confirming the rumor. And as we all know a rumor is an antonym for fact. I stand by my confirmaion of a rumor.
You dont have to wait by your devices. Most likely you wont get it right at 10am their time either. IOS 5 I could download 7 hours after they released it. I sat there right at 1pmET clicking and clicking update. FOR NOTHING. The servers will be flooded with people doing the same thing. If you dont get it right at release, dont worry...
Another note: lets see how that extra server station in NC does and if it makes any noticeable difference......
My download of IOS 6 just started.. Woohoo
How long did it take to download?
It says it has 5 minutes remaining, but the bar is only half way. I was in the middle of a back up when it started the download at 12:56pm EST.
It's about 500-600MB for iPhone 4 (not S). my over the air download started @ ~9:55am Pacific. It's now 10:10a and the prgress bar stated 1 hour remaining but it's fluctuating pretty widely. Your internet speed is gonna affect the download time.
Now it says Preparing Update... 1:16pm EST
MY iPad and iPhone both started about 12:55pm EST. The iPad says preparing Update and the iPhone is still at 1/4 bar and says about 40 minutes to go. My iPad must have gotten the down load first.
itunes stils says backing up my iPad, I'm not going to touch it until I get a confirmation on the iPad. My iPhone now says 4 minutes remaining for the down load.
My iPhone just switched to Preparing Update... It looks like it is catching up to the iPad!
My iPhone and iPad are both starting the re-boot process. The iPhone is ahead by about a minute.
Neither ones shows in iTunes at the moment.
iPhone back up now with iOS 6 at 2:09pm est. iPad about 2 minutes behind.
