What if I already have the virus? this patch may work?? I'm not a computer savy :( I NEED HELP!!!!!!

I would like to know if this patch work if I have the virus in my computer? I'm not a computer savy and I just discover that I have shared my computer with who knows who is 😟 so sad.. but I need to fix this ASAP!!! Please somebody who can help me!

I'm not sure what "virus" you're referring to. Your tags indicate DNSChanger, but that did not involve Java and has been dead since November of last year. Further, the malicious servers used by DNSChanger were shut down in July, so you would have had serious internet problems starting at that time if you were infected with DNSChanger.


If you are referring to Flashback, that particular update does not remove the malware, but if you simply run Software Update and let it install whatever is available, you will be fine and the malware will be removed, if present. See About the Flashback malware.

I did.. when I open my computer it shows in the left hand side under shared "hpe83935c649fe" and if I open to see what it is it look like if it is a external card.. OMY now I just open it and it shows like I'm sharing my computer with my self !! I don't have reading any card I don't have anything connected to my computer but the power cord! can you please tell me what kind of antivirus do I need to run oe what to do?

Yesterday I tried to get rid of the hpe thing and I went to security and once I unlock it change htp.. to David that's why I don't think is my printer.. right know again is hpe.. and magda pc under sharing.. once I try to delete it show a window saying "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “MEMORY_CARD” can’t be found." and I don't have any memory card in my computer!

That is not a problem. The Shared section of the sidebar in a Finder window shows devices on the same network that are offering services for you to connect to. That does not mean that someone or something is trying to connect to your machine! In this case, as MadMacs0 pointed out, that device is almost certainly an HP printer that has a memory card slot, because the printer probably is capable of sharing an inserted memory card with the computer so that you can download files from it.
