Can my iPod touch, which is the 2nd gen, utilize the iMessage?

Well I just spoke with an Apple Support specialist, and he said I would be able to have iOS5. But I suppose we will find out when I look to download iOS5. Thank you for the quick reply though!
If you have a 2nd generation iPod Touch, you can NOT upgrade to iOS 5. 4.2.1 is the highest possible.
That "support specialist" is wrong. Connect to iTunes and try to update, you will be notified 4.2.1 is the latest version.
4th generations are probobly cheaper now that the fifth generation is out.
