How do I run a table in Pages 09 over multiple pages?

I have tried multiple locations, read many forums and read the Pages 2009 online manual to find an answer.

The Pages 2009 manual, http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Pages09_UserGuide.pdf, chapter 9 Working with Talbe Cells page 201 - 202 has an example of a table that has a page break in a table that allows the headers to be listed on both pages. I am trying ot stop using Office but it is so easy and automatic to have a long table that runs over multiple pages.

Does Pages 2009 have a simular way of long tables automaticly breaking over pages?

Sojourner,

You must Insert your Table into a text area as an Inline Object for the Table to span page breaks. Objects will default to Floating if the Text Insertion Cursor is not active. This is pretty likely in a Page Layout template. It can also happen in a Word Processing template if you have been working with other objects just prior to inserting the Table. If the text insertion cursor is flashing in the text layer of a word processing template or in any other type of text container, your table will default to Inline and will be anchored to the point where the cursor was.

The control for changing the Floating/Inline property is in the Wrap Inspector, and on the Format Bar.

Once your table is set as Inline and the Header option for repeating on each page is chosen, you should be good to go.
