Does the iphone 4s use 5ghz wifi

I wan't to use my 5ghz wifi on my iPhone 4S but it can't see the SSID for my 5ghz network. The specs page for the iPhone 4S states it uses:

802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Does anyone know why this isn't working?

BTW - My iPad works just fine on the 5ghz network.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

No, it does not state that.

The 4S does not have the 5GHz radio.

My iPhone 5, 4S and even iPad2 are all showing they are connected to my 5GHz wifi network. Now I uses time capusle as the wireless access point, not sure if that matter. They do actually work at 5GHz. Like jerodmotly have said, it takes longer to "discover" the 5Ghz wifi but only by seconds.
