To change the ID used for purchasing go to Settings>Store, tap the ID at the bottom, sign out, sign back in with the ID you want to use.  Note: any apps purchased using the old ID will continue to prompt your for this ID whenever they are updated.

If you want to change the ID used for iCloud to another existing ID you'll have to create a new iCloud account on your phone.  Start by going to Settings>iCloud and turn any synced data (contacts, etc.) to Off.  When prompted, choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  After everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account with the new ID and turn syncing back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload your data to the new account.

The only way to sign out of iCloud is on the device you want to sign out of iCloud on.  If you're concerned about someone accesing your account from your broken phone or otherwise, just change the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.  Or is it something else you want to accomplish?

I have recently changed both the primary email address and password on an existing apple id but am finding now that I can't sign out of icloud on my iphone because the email address is the old email address. I can't change the email address back as you will need to verify it and that email address has since been deleted.  How do I delete icloud from my phone when I don't know the password to do so?

If your old ID is an earlier version of your new/current ID you won't need to verify the old address.  Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was (you may need to verify your current email address again).  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I can't seem to make this work because it wants me to verify my old email address, and the email account no longer exists. Please help. About to throw my phone against a wall.

It only works if the old email address was previously associated with your current ID.  If your current ID is an entirely new ID that was never previously associated with the old address, you'll have to enter the password for the old ID in order to delete the account.  If the password doesn't work and you can't reset it, you'll have to contact the Apple account security team for your country for assistance resetting the password: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security.

Sorry but only the original owner can help you with that.  There's no way around it.

I would like to restore my new iPhone to factory settings, but I can't do it, because of old Apple ID data.

I updated my Apple ID and the update was verified, but for some reason my iPhone still remembers my previous apple ID, not allowing me to make the restore.

When I start the process of restore my iPhone, a dialog box pops up showing my previous ID asking for password, which doesn't exist.

Also when I go, on my iPhone to settings=>General=>Apps and iTunes, at the top, the old ID is shown, but I don't know how update it.

      PLEASE help.

    Hi,

My wife has an iPhone 5 however her old iPhone 4 is still linked to her account. I would like to remove the iPhone 4 from the account without affecting the 5.

What is the safest way to perform this?

    Cheers in advance
