Tracking the thief remotely with SSH access

We had a laptop stolen.

We have been tracking the thief with some 3rd party software that also gives us SSH access to the laptop even behind a firewall.

So far we've managed to gather lots of interesting details about the thief not least his browsing habits including screenshots. We know his name, his home address, his parents full names. The name of his wifi SSID amongst other things.

We're able to script the laptop to upload to an ftp site in the background so getting files isn't a problem.

We aren't 100% sure if the laptop is at his home address or another location though so we're trying to find that out.

Any suggestions as to what we can do to gather this info from the laptop?

If you look in the Security preferences under the Privacy tab, there is an Enable Location Services option, you can make sure that's turned on. Then you can upload an app to the laptop to try to determine the location, I'm not sure which apps are best at that. Since Mac laptops do not have actual GPS it will probably be trying to determine by its IP address or something.

Other than that...you seem way ahead of most people!
