How to copy text from a PDF into a standard font?

Hello everyone,

Please help! This problem is driving me bonkers! 😠

I'm looking at a PDF document in Preview (OSX 10.6.8) and need to copy text from the PDF into Text Edit (saved as rich text). Every time I paste it copies all the formatting...so I get tiny white text on a white background and have to go to the font panel and change it every time.

Is there any way (either with the siftware I'm useing or somethign else) I can recitify this? Perhaps by pasting it into a default font??

Would be greatful of any suggestions.

Many thanks in advance.
