Q: Updating to iCloud email address
Hi, I am finding it hard to find a ligitimate source either confirming or denying the @icloud.com email address upgrades — different people say different things.
I have not had an iPhone before, and that was down to finance, as a student, I simply don't have the money, and being in the UK means I have to pay a tonne of tax of this sort of technology, i.e. more money.
However I am getting the iPhone 5 as my first iPhone, and I cannot be happier and eagerly awaiting it's arrival.
I already have an @me.com account, connected to iCloud [but I don't use it], and of course I have an Apple ID, so I am not elegable for an new address by simply connecting. I am planning on starting to use the iCloud mail as my default personal service, though do not like @me.com.
I understand that developers using iOS 6 beta 3 have had their @me.com address upgraded to @icloud.com, this is where I it seems to be unclear :
When I get the iPhone 5 with iOS 6 installed, and sign in, would I automatically get the @icloud.com ? Do I have to apply for it? or am I simply not elegable for the upgrade to @icloud.com ?
