I have gone back to Nike and they are looking into the issue. They have sent the details onto their US research desk, which I hope is looking at the problem from an IT perspective. I did mention to them That I am not alone in having this issue which hopefully will spur them on to resolve it. I am wondering if the IOS 6 update has anything to do with it, but I'm not sure when I did that update

Here was the reply to my post with Nike direct. It did resolve my problem:

The first question I have is: Are you using Mountain Lion OSX 10.8?

Mountain Lion includes a new feature called Gatekeeper, which is intended to increase security by preventing the installation of malicious software. Our preliminary testing of Mountain Lion has uncovered that Gatekeeper's default settings could prevent the installation of Connect.

Control-clicking the installer package, then selecting "Open" will override Gatekeeper. Once successfully installed, there is no further workaround needed.

Another option is for you to change your Security & Privacy settings to allow applications downloaded from "Anywhere." This setting can be changed after Connect is successfully installed.

If you are using another operating system or this does not resolve your issue, please respond via this email and we will work together to find a solution.

My security settings are already set to allow app from anywhere. I download the Nike+ Connect installer, control clicked it, selected open. Downloaded the application, computer said the application is installed on my computer. But when I go to look for it, it is no where to be found on my hardrive. I am operating on Mountain Lion 10.8.2

HELP PLEASE

I have snow leopard installed on my mac. Nike did suggest the problem may be with Gatekeeper but the workaround (as Sundaydoti outlines above) did not work and my settings already allow downloads from anywhere.. Nike have come back to me this week and they finally recognise that this problem is not an isolated incident. Hopefully a solution will be found soon. Will let you know as soon as I hear!
