Q: When, if ever do you think I will be able to create an alias?

I've benn trying to create an alias on my iCloud account for a month. All I get is "This alias cannot be saved at this time." I have 2 alias available.

When my account changed over from .mac to .me I had some problems. Now were going to .icloud we have problems. OK, It's a major change but they have done it enough times they should have the hang of it.

Any suggestions outside of going to gmail?

Give it a few hours and trry again once iOS6 has been released: it may be related to that.

Wish you were right Roger. But iCoud is up and going and aliases are still not working. I'm sure Apple, in their own time, will fix the problem. Not that they will admit to there being a problem.

Since I posted that new information has come to light. @icloud.com addresses are being rolled out over an unspecified period: you will get one without having to do anything, and it will be additional to your @me.com address. You will get a notification email when your account is updated. Please see this page:

Thanks again. I will wait until they "upgrade" my account then try to set up an alias. I remeber I had some problems when we changed over from .mad to .me it took them a while but if eventually came around.
