PeripheralsIs the reason you cannot hold the button at the back because it is stuck? If so that may well explain the constant cutting off. It could be borderline between on and off as a result and affected by as little change as the heat once it is switched on.
What is the age and the precise model of your computer.

PeripheralsWell, at less than one year old it is under warranty (and hopefully you have Apple care too).
You should take it to your Apple Store and have it examined within the guarantee period.
The problem, may not be that serious, but that is what a warranty is for. It is also why you should take out the insurance of Apple Care.
