Sep 20, 2012 5:57 AM in response to chazzarelliby diane l,I just completed the update to IOS 6 and I get the same problem when you open passcode.
Can not open App Store.
Must be a bug that apple needs to fix.

Sep 20, 2012 6:01 AM in response to chazzarelliby Ajt6868,It sounds to me like the 10 companies currently involved all have little or no involvement in the UK or Europe so for us its just another Icon taking up memory that does nothing.

Sep 20, 2012 6:38 AM in response to arizonadonnby MJ_MU,I have tried my best to add "British airways boarding pass", my Tesco and Nectar clubcards and the tickets I have to see Jimmy Carr to Passbook. No luck!

Sep 20, 2012 6:41 AM in response to arizonadonnby Long Beach Mom,I was at an apple store yesterday and they told me it's an app related issue. All the stores that have the cards need to put in for it to go to passbook. I thought it would be like Cardstar where I could put in all my keyring store cards but unless the store has it set up - it won't go into passbook.

Sep 20, 2012 6:43 AM in response to arizonadonnby Gat0r,Just added the Walgreen App to Passbook. It does work just fine if the App includes a Passbook option.

Sep 20, 2012 6:55 AM in response to Richard Haganby barrydix,@Richard - I just click on the App Store button at the bottom of the screen when Passbook opened and it took me to the App Store where the Lufthansa App was asking to be installed.

Sep 20, 2012 7:31 AM in response to BellaMinaGillby Donovan Lytle,I'm guessing it worked because by resetting your phone back a year, it reminds you to back it up. I had all the same issues. Once I backed up my iPhone, Passbook available apps are visible now. No more error messages.

Sep 20, 2012 8:11 AM in response to ruffninja82by lrcny,That's ridiculous. The developers had all the time in the world to get their apps ready for Passbook by the time iOS 6 was released.

So let me get this straight; This supposedly big change to the IOS that adds this life changing application "Passbook" doesn't do what we all hoped or expected it to do. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong.
I guess I was expecting this to work to replace all of these loyalty cards from airlines, hotels etc as well as keep my hotel stay's, flight itineraries/boarding passes, cupons, tickets and other things handy right on my phone. No more fumbling around printed out copies of itineraries and hotel bookings, or digging through emails to find the info. It would just be there on my phone through this revolutionary app.
But wrong again. So far this app lets me add only a select few companies (10 to be exact - most of which are of no use to me). I download those apps, and whoalla nothing happens. I go to the app, add in my United Airlines info, and once again, go to passbook, and NOTHING HAPPENS. I just get the App store picture, press it and it asks me to download the same apps.
I have no option to create a loyalty card for another airline besides Lufthansa or United. Then I research and people say use this Passsource.com site to create passes. Yet, for this you have to go through a TON of programming to create a pass, and even then it doesn't do it because now I have to sign up for $8 a month to be able to create passes.
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Please tell me I'm in the wrong here, because this has to be one of the most disapointing apps I've ever encountered. And this is one of Apple's biggest new feature...
Can anyone explain if I've got it wrong?
It certainly lacks usefulness at this early stage. However, it may do more in the future. At least I can use it to display my Walgreens reward card, but then the Walgreens app does that... It's in my 'not used' folder so far.

Sep 20, 2012 8:46 AM in response to chazzarelliby rphunte42,I really thought I would, at least, get some use out of it by scanning my loyalty cards into it, but that doesn't seem to be how it works.
