Sep 20, 2012 11:02 AM in response to Brettstat2dby Alan Mitchell,You need to go into Settings>General>Date&Time and turn off the Set Date and Time Automatically. Then manually temporarily change the year from 2012 to 2013. That will let you access the app store. Then you can go in and restore the year to 2012 or just use the authomatic set date and time function.

Sep 20, 2012 11:46 AM in response to Alan Mitchellby bguerin1,This worked as far as being able to get the app store to show what store apps will work but they still don't appear in the store cards or coupons etc. Touching any of the 4 icons produces nothing.

Sep 20, 2012 12:09 PM in response to bguerin1by mike_lv2,That is exactly correct. Everyone seems to repeat the same "solution" with changinf the date. However, that solves nothing. Syre, you can get to Apple store (which I was able to do without the change anyway) but as to adding cards, no one here offered any real solution aside of opinions. The fours buttons should work ... for example, by clicking on button "store cards" you should be able to add a store card. Yet, none of the buttons work. I don't feel like spending all day by creating my own cards by using third-party website; I am sure that was not Apple's intention. Not to be mean but lot of people offer opinion without knowing what they are talking about ... it's the same repeated "solution" with changing the date but the problem of adding cards doesn't seem to be solved by anyone. If there is a person who can offer solution, it would be nice.

Sep 20, 2012 12:16 PM in response to mike_lv2by Mikaeldo88,Mike, Passbook was not designed to work that way. You need to download app from different vendors to generate passes then add back to passbook. In the future, those vendors can email you passes or you can add them on web through Safari. The Passbook file look like this "PassName.pkpass"

Sep 20, 2012 12:18 PM in response to mike_lv2by digsoreos,Actually, adding Target coupons works fine. I'm still having trouble adding my Ticketmaster tickets which I purchased to see an event happening Saturday. Perhaps some apps--even the ones Passbook pushes you to install from the App Store--aren't ready for prime-time? If that's the case, the developers of those apps need to release fixes.

Sep 20, 2012 1:00 PM in response to arizonadonnby bguerin1,Have added the Target coupons and now when I touch the Passbook icon, all that comes up is the Target coupon. Based on all the feedback here, I don't think this app was ready to be launched. It sure doesn't work as the ad bit on the apple website says it will. Key Ring seems to be a more useable program. I think Apple laid an egg here, at least initially.

The missing link is www.passsource.com. Go there ON SAFARI on the iPhone, and you should find what you need. I just put my Kroger card in there.

Sep 20, 2012 3:15 PM in response to rphunte42by koafarms,Before going all whole hog on www.passsource.com just be aware its a site not affiliated with apple, just a service, so be aware of that when you start adding your information or whatever to creat your passbook cards. (not that there is anything wrong with that...but read the disclaimer)

Sep 20, 2012 3:45 PM in response to rphunte42by mike_lv2,I don't want to be mean ... but after all I said, after explaining that some third-party website not even affiliated with Apple is not the solution ... after all that you post the link to the same website? You gotta be kidding me ...

Sep 20, 2012 4:06 PM in response to arizonadonnby stevehew,Don't know why, but this worked for me:
Go to settings > general > date and time
Turn off Set Time Automatically
Set the time and date in the future (I picked a month and 1/2 in future)
Try Passbook again
Once it opens successfully, change date/time back to normal
I tried one month into future, still errored out, added a few more days to that and it worked fine. Now you just have to download apps that work with Passbook, which is where it takes you to in the iTunes store.

Sep 20, 2012 4:12 PM in response to rphunte42by Alan Mitchell,Yes, that is correct because not many apps are Passbookenabled. You will just have to wait for the developers to updatetheir apps to be used with Passbook. Some alreay are Target, American Airlines, Target, MLB. You know they are enabled when a small plus sign appears on the Open button.

Sep 20, 2012 4:47 PM in response to arizonadonnby Cyberintrepid,Same for me. I launch the App and I get a message saying "cannot connect to iTunes Store". Any news from Apple?

Sep 20, 2012 5:44 PM in response to arizonadonnby jrblock11325,Yes it works for me also to:
1. Settings >> General >> Date & Time >> Turn Set Automatically Off >> Set Date & Time >> Change year to 2013
2. Open Passbook and it should work. Then,
3. Turn Set Automatically On and it will work.
