Sep 22, 2012 11:38 AM in response to mikerat186by Sandra Hall,It's on Apple because some people actually have passbook working. It's not working for everyone, unfortunately.

Sep 22, 2012 12:12 PM in response to arizonadonnby jrblock11325,The Date & Time change only seems to work for certain people. It seems suprising how Apple has not fixed this issue yet. Also, there definitely needs to be more apps compatible with Passbook.

Sep 22, 2012 12:19 PM in response to MichaelTempleby Motyoj,Couldn't connect to the Passbook app. Did many fixes; none worked. Created a CVS Passbook app at Passsource.com and it showed up but didn't work either at checkout. Getting a little frustrated with all this. Apple couldn't help either. Thinking of returning the phone as the new iPhone 5 isn't much worth the price for what AT&T charged to upgrade. Map app stinks and my Galaxy Nexus has much better directions with their app, plus, AT&T's coverage in my area is terrible. This has been the most disappointing iPhone upgrade I've had in the 5 iPhones I have owned.

Sep 22, 2012 12:24 PM in response to Alendrixby MorningStar967,What about the Target app? I haven't tried it yet, but it
was on the update. My Passcard just takes
me to the App Store that's it.

Sep 22, 2012 12:26 PM in response to Motyojby Joe5150,My passbook app works with my Walgreen account, but not my CVS one. Im sure these things will be worked out in the future, and I disagree I've had all the iphones since the orignal and the Iphone 5 is by far the best so far.

Sep 22, 2012 12:31 PM in response to arizonadonnby foiz28,New York Times posted this: (didn't work for me but has for many others)
The problem for many people is they get a message that reads “Cannot connect to the iTunes Store.”
I thought I was blocked by heavy traffic, but no, there is a glitch. Here is the fix:
Go to settings, and tap on “General,” scroll down and tap on “Date & Time.”
If it is on “Set Automatically,” turn that off. When “Set Date & Time” appears below, tap it. Set the date ahead one year, to 2013.
Then double tap the home button on the face of the phone and open Passbook again. Press the apps button and it should work.
Then go back into settings, find your way back to “Date & Time,” and return the setting to automatic.
I don’t know why it works, but it does.
A reader made an important suggestion in the Comments section:
Make sure you switch on iMessages and facetime back again after this. iMessage turns off if you move the clock ahead.

Sep 22, 2012 12:51 PM in response to arizonadonnby mkcmobile,I've been leery of relying in apps that show codes for scanning on the phone. Often the readers won't work (I have tried). Thought with passbook and the partner apps that things might be getting better. Somehow I overcame the problem everyone is talking about here on my phone, but haven't been able to for my wife.
Anyway I saw Fandango was one of the apps that work with passbook. Since I was taking my kids to the movies, I decided what the heck I would give it a try. And of course it wouldn't read properly when we got to the theater. It would be really nice if it did (ok when it does work someday as you walk right up to the ticket taker inside). They tried to readers. I also noticed Fandango app had the code (actually larger than passbook) but that wouldn't read either. Not sure what the problem was as another guy's phone did work, but I couldn't tell what he was using. So I am not going to hold my breath and will try again in the future, but I think I will play it safe with paper for awhile.

Sep 22, 2012 3:32 PM in response to arizonadonnby Jorge_Lampreia,Jorge from Portugal here again,
And all of a suddenly Passbook began to work or at least the "cannot connect..." error went away.
I got the Lufthansa App - thee only one meaningfull here in Portugal - but it installed as a "standalone app"...
Maybe when some Flight booking is made it will appear in Passbook. For the moment, the only role of Passbook is to connect to iTunes Store to the apps that are Passbook compatible and install the ones you choose.
Something I read elsewhere that goes "silentely" with this trick of changing the date and back agian.
Please, check your iMessages and Face Time. The changing of the date (because of the Passbook cannot connect error) put those two apps on off. So, no iMessages and no Face Time unless you turn then On again.
Cheers
Jorge
