Sep 19, 2012 1:02 PM in response to arizonadonnby aes1783,My problem is, passbook isn't even appearing on my iPad2. Anyone experiencing that issue? I did the update and everything else seems to be there. I assume I should be seeing an app called Passbook on my screen somewhere, but nothing. Any suggestions?

Sep 19, 2012 1:05 PM in response to Alendrixby barnet2,So you're saying that passbook is just a series of links, eventually ending w/ an app that is already on your phone? Passbook -> App Store -> ex. Wallgreens App? Why not just click on the Wallgreens app to begin with and save some time?

No. That's not what they are saying. Once your app is updated to support Passbook, the app will be able to generate Passbook files. Once generated, open Passbook and it's there.

Changing the date and time fixed it. It doesn't appear to be acting like an application wallet right now, but it is at least working.
At least this worked to fix the connection error! Thanks!

[sorry for the repeat - i was trying to nest this reply with the original problem]

Sep 19, 2012 1:32 PM in response to arizonadonnby firemadz,So, I successfully added the Walgreens app, now when I open the Passbook App, that's all I see, no way to hit the App Store button or see categories anymore. Any ideas? Seems Passbook is a let-down...

Sep 19, 2012 1:35 PM in response to mikerat186by AmberView,I have the fandango app. Where, exactly in the app, do you set it to open in passbook?

Sep 19, 2012 1:35 PM in response to arizonadonnby bommadi,Same issue. "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"
Please do not reinstall anything till iTunes releases the app. I followed someone's advice and resintalled my OS.

Sep 19, 2012 1:59 PM in response to arizonadonnby kk5do,It appears this is an iPhone 4S issue. I have both an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 4. On the iPhone 4, I can click on app store in passbook and it gives me a list of those vendors that are currently supporting Passbook. On the iPhone 4S, it only says Cannot Connect to iTunes Store. Seems a problem that Apple will have to fix on the first go around of bug updates.

Sep 19, 2012 2:28 PM in response to arizonadonnby marsz26,the Sephora app and passbook are working great ( I updated the app and then it had a banner along the top that allowed me to add the card). It shows 0 points for the beauty insider card but then again it shows the same thing online. I think the issue is that so many people are trying to access this at once that the servers are in major overload. If we have a bit of patience it will be up and running soon!

Sep 19, 2012 2:35 PM in response to arizonadonnby thnxtay,I found this while I was looking for an answer to the problem stated in the original post:

It is talking about the www.passsource.com website that allows you to build passbook items through the site. Use your phone to navigate to that webpage and it has a list of passbook items that you can generate. It might help to use this while the app developers come up to speed with the app linking to passbook.
Of note, this might be the end solution to some passbook items (e.g. YMCA member cards) as some of those items on the passsource list do not have iphone apps now.
