Siri is not working on the "New iPad" (iPad 3)

Why is that happens?

I updated my iPad 3 (The new ipad) software to iOS 6, and now when I'm trying to hold the home button, nothing happens..

Any idea what causes the issue?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1, My iPad is on iOS 6

I also updated my iPad to iOS 6. I turned Siri on in the settings. When I hold down the home button Siri does come up. But after I have given my command it makes the sound that indicates that I have stopped talking. Then it loads for about 4 minutes and says: “I’m really sorry about this, but can’t take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while.”

Does anyone know what might be wrong? I am connected to Wi-Fi but it runs through a proxy server.

I was able to get it working by putting The iPad in DFU mode. Works like a champ. Maybe I am being over critical but it sounds like there is something loose in the speaker area. When the low tones of Siri are made (after your initiate Siri and dont say anything) I get almost a blown speaker sound. I never realized it with other audio until now. Anyone hear anything similar?

I updated last night to iOS6 on the ipad3. No SIRI under settings either.

I notice I'm also missing PASSBOOK too. The new clock and maps are there, so I know it worked.

I also tried the "restrictions" tip within this discussion . . nothing.

I've done full restore to different backups, nothing . . .

My update took place by connecting directly to my iMac. Imac had latest OSx and Itunes.

I wonder if that may be part of the problem.

My friend got SIRI update fine, but did wirelessly.

I have a call with Apple Tech scheduled this morning. If there is a solution, I'll post it . . .

Yes, Siri and Passbook only work on the New iPad3!

Passbook is NOT on the iPad3 or any other iPad. It is found on the upgrade for the iPod and the iPhone. Think about it. Who is going to carry an iPad to the movie theater, the grocery store, or a restaurant to get their tickets scanned or redeem their gift cards? I doubt you would do that at the airport with your ticket and boarding pass, either. I makes sense not to have it on the iPad.

As far as Siri goes, I had no problem getting it to work from the start..........although, I highly doubt I will ever use it. It's sort of fun, but another one of those "seriously?!?" items. 😉
