Why is that happens?
I updated my iPad 3 (The new ipad) software to iOS 6, and now when I'm trying to hold the home button, nothing happens..
Any idea what causes the issue?
iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1, My iPad is on iOS 6
Did you turn Siri on in Settings? I do no remember were it is.

Me too i have ipad 3 and when i press ipad 3 i cant enter to siri
You have to keep holding the HOME button down until a box shows up
No issues here. Hold down the home button until Siri launches. Works great!

I have just done a clean restore to iOS 6 on my iPad 3rd Gen, Siri comes up fine but does not hear a thing I say.
I just went to my Settings menu, there is an option inside the General called Siri, and I turned it on.
Than I could just launch the Siri by holding down the Home Button until its shown up.

Yup not that numb. I have Siri enabeled. Unless I stick my mouth right on the mic siri does not hear me, and when siri does its not right. I am in a silent room with no other noise. The sound level on Siri barely registers.
Unlike MacBookProf, I have no Siri setting under General whatsoever on my Ipad3. I have already installed ioS6 and restarted my iPad, but still nothing to start up Siri with whatsoever. I am at a loss with what to do now???
Mine worked fine.........I just tried it. Pretty cool, although I doubt I will use it much. I must admit that it took a little longer than I expected for her to answer "What time is it?", but the answer was correct. When I told her to "Open Scrabble" the app opened in a flash!
I had the same problem. Turns out I was holding the iPad to close. Try holding the iPad at least a foot away from you and speak normally. If you try speaking directly next to the mic it gets over powered and nothing gets detected.
I don't have aything in my General Settings that says Siri.
I do have an iPad3

Try speaking normally at least a foot away. You are over powering the mic by speaking so closely.
First go in your settings > general > about and make sure it says you have 6.0 installed. Maybe it failed while installing the first time? If you do have it installed the only other thing to try is reinstalling iOS 6.
I also updated my iPad to iOS 6. I turned Siri on in the settings. When I hold down the home button Siri does come up. But after I have given my command it makes the sound that indicates that I have stopped talking. Then it loads for about 4 minutes and says: “I’m really sorry about this, but can’t take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while.”
Does anyone know what might be wrong? I am connected to Wi-Fi but it runs through a proxy server.
