So I've tried downloading IOS 6 twice via OTA - both times I get error in downloading, but no erro message.
I'm going to try connecting to a different wifi and if that fails I'll try downloading via iTunes.
Got it also after 45 minutes OTA... Got an IOS 6 Install Error.
I wonder what causing the error. Did it give you a reason or did it just say error?
You may have to just update using itunes. Also, Jailbroken phones can not use OTA updates in case any of yours are.
Nope not jailbroken. Yes itunes is my last resort, trying a different wifi connection first.
I've tried downloading via iTunes several times now - all 912.8B downloads then as it keeps my drive busy (presumambly copying to a permanent location) that is when I get an error starting downloasd failed due to a network time out - but the whole file downloaded already!!
Frustrating... and it doesn't even save what it downloaded - starts from zero again.
I made sure to update iTues first and backup my iPhone...
I'm having the same problem. Downloading from my phone starts and then gives an error. I've tried 10+ times.
Downloading through itunes gives an error that the "update server could not be reached". Frustrated.
Servers are slow with everyone downloading IOS 6. You may want to wait later tonight.
Does anyone know of any restore file torrents? It would be much simpler and less error prone if the firmware files were available via torrent.
thousands off people are trying to update there phones so you might have to wait till the servers are not so over loaded

I actually grabbed the restore ipsw with flashget and that worked really well.

You can restore in iTunes a file based ipsw by holding shift while clicking restore.
