Same here! endless loop of starting and crashing.
Same here on both libraries.
So what is your crash log say? What have you tried to do to resolve? Have you deleted your plist? And/or did you reinstall the app?
I'm also seeing an endless loop of starting and crashing. Tried rebuilding the database; no luck. How do I reinstall? (I install via Software Update, not via App Store.).
On OS X 10.7.5.
Yes I did.
Guess I'm not clear on which issue you are seeing - what does the crash log say?
Do you have the installer DVD for Aperture 3? If so, then delete it from /Applications, then re-install from DVD, and then run Software Update until you're at Aperture 3.4. You should be OK then.
William, would you please post a crash log? (the first 50 lines only, please) In the other thread we had seen, have most of the crashes occuren when Aperture tries to connect to Facebook, using the
AccountConfigurationPlugin.framework. Re: Aperture 3.4 will not open. Perhaps you are having the same trouble.
This framework is part of the Aperture application bundle, so reinstalling from DVD like William Lloyd recommends, looks like a good idea.
This solved the problem for me: Go to user/library/Preferences and delete "com.apple.Aperture.plist"...then reopen Aperture...
I have also the crash problem after I update Aperture to 3.4. As psychotic1 mentioned, deleting the user/library/Preference works for me.
Indeed, thanks psychotic1...
Hi, what if I haven't the .plist file in the Preference directory?
My Aperture is crashing too...
Thank you guys for your support.
Are you looking in the correct library?
In the recent MacOS versions Lion/Mt. Lion the user Library is hidden.
You can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar:
Finder > Go
Then hold down to options-key ⌥, until Library appears in the drop-down menu. Select it and open the Library.
In the window that opens select the "Preferences" folder - you will find the Aperture.plist there. Move it to the Desktop, then try again to launch Aperture.
Removing the preference file will result in reverting all preferences you set using the "Preference" panel to default, also the layout of the GUI and the "recent" file list, but all your "Presets" will not be changed.
Regards
Léonie
