Apple Maps draining battery, even when plugged in charging?

When using the new Apple Maps, even with my phone plugged in and charging, it still loses battery percentage slowly. Is Maps using more power than my car charger can give? Any one else having this problem when driving?

I noticed the same thing yesterday, I was losing about 1% every minute while using turn by turn in the new maps app.

At first I had Pandora streaming also and was losing about 2% per minute so I turned off Pandora and turned down the back light then the drain slowed to about 1% per minute. Still doesn't seem correct. I have other navigation apps and none of them actually drain the battery while the charger is plugged in.

Hopefully there will be a fix, the only thing I can think of is that the use of Siri for voice nav could be causing the extra drain.

Yeah. Kinda ***** I can't really listen to music and have the nav going at the same time cause it drains fast. Hopefully they address this issue. Seems like ios 6 in general is draining more battery that ios 5. I even went through my settings to turn what I need off, off, so it maintains a normal battery life. I shouldn't even have to resort to that :/ I wonder if another small update can fix this draining problem?
