Great, sounds like your iPhone will be fixed.  Hope others that are within their first year approach things the way your have.  When you get it back, you might try to find out if you could get Apple Care Plus ...that would extend the warranty to three years from the purchase date.  The "Plus" part gives you a defined cost for repairing a broken glass up to three times at $49. each time.  The glass on the iPhone 5 is 20% stronger and more scratch resistant than previous models.  An aftermarket exists for earlier iPhone glass.  I have seen repair kits for as little as $17, but have no first experience with such kits.

To continue where I left off. The fix I mentioned before did work, for around half a day. So I tried it again, worked for a few hours. The fourth time i tried the button just stayed greyed out and won't turn on. Again

Looks like I'm back to square one.

Hi everyone. I think I have a clue of what could be happening to our iPhones 4s, I have installed the iPhone Configurator Utility and accessed the console of my iPhone. I've searched for wifi entries and found this line:

    Apr  3 11:30:27  Preferences[104] <Warning>: -[WiFiManager init]: Couldn't find a WiFi device

¿What on earth could have had happened to our iPhones!?

  • desireefromsan pedro Level 1 Level 1

There was no fix for my 4s issue with the wifi button.

I had to send it back to Apple and have the phone replaced.  I was very upset because my phone was less than a year old, and they would be sending me a refurbished iPhone.

I sent them the phone on a Monday, it was back to me that Wednesday.

I think that's the only solution. I think it's a hardware problem combined with a software problem. ¿Is in this forum an iPhone expert that can help us to stablish if this is a hardware or software problem?

Definetively, is a Hardware problem. I think that's the high temperature that our iPhones reach when charging or plugged in into any appliance (it charges and access to internal memory) this overheat our iPhones and causes a lot of problems (including reducing battery life). For those that bought the iPhone before a year ago, it stills on warranty, so go on and change your iPhone or replace what's damaged on the main board.

Do u really think that is a hardware problem and start to happen to all of us some time later after we installed IOS 6? Of course is a Software problem!!! or any of u still has ios 5.0 and is having the same issue?

  • nmainas Level 1 Level 1

I have the same problem. Everything was fine in my 4s until 6.1.3 update. Then the wifi and bluetooth stopped working. Apple has to fix this with a new update. There are hundreds of 4s holders with the same problem. This is unacceptable.

At least they don,t have these issues.. life would be so boring if I could just pick up my phone ,connect to blue tooth and recieve a call while driving ....create a hot spot to connect  the kids  note books ,to entertain them ............ I can't help but wonder how many of you with this problem have tried resetting your iPhones back to the New In-Box condition.  Then try the Wi-Fi Connection prior to actually restoring your specific content from iTunes.  It would be a shame to give up on iPhones for something that could have been mitigated.
