Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

How cool of you to make a YouTube video and help other people out.  I watched it and gave you a thumbs up! Until such time Apple permanently fixes this issue, at least others can benefit from this workaround.  Cheers!

I have been having the same sort of problems.  I put ios6 onto my 4s and now can't access wifi properly.

In wifi settings, the iPhone sees the network and appears to connect to it (takes longer than normal) .  Everything IP address wise looks normal on the iPhone, but web pages either don't load at all, or take literally about 1 min to load the google homepage.

I have a Cisco E4200v1 router.  My other iphone 4 (also on ios6) connects fine along with my ipad1 and all other devices in home.

I have tried changing the wifi setting on the router to no avail.  I have tried all the iPhone hacks to no avail.  I restored the iPhone back to factory and it still couldn't connect to the network.

    This is terrible!

I have found my own fix on the Cisco E4200 router for ios6 on my 4s.  It's not good though!

It seems that the 2.4GHz can transmit on Wireless-N, Wireless-G, Wireless-B or mixed mode.

If I have it set to N or mixed, the 4s has major problems.  If I set it to G only, the 4s works fine.

    So I can't have N goodness!!!!!

I'll have to post this on the cisco forum too.

Thank you very much for that information ukmgranger. This seems to have fixed it for me too with my Siemens SE551 router. I had to switch from mixed mode to 'g' only and now the iPad3 can connect again.

    Hi

I had exactly the same issues. I found that if I change my router setting from mixed 11g and 11n to just 11g, my ipad2 would then connect. (Draytek router)

Oddly I have since reverted my router settings back to mixed 11g and 11n and it is still connecting.

What is even more odd is my iphone 4s, which I upgraded to ios6 before my ipad2, was unaffected and worked perfectly

    Good luck

Your post and the replys are telling me that the fact that I was unable to upgrade might just be an advantage as everything seems to be working well. I shall wait a few more weeks staying with iOS 5..Thanks to everyone..

I not to long upgraded my new ipad to iOS 6 and I have noticed that my FaceTime is not working. Every time I make a call on the FaceTime it does not ring and then it will show "lost connection".

It looks like i too have the same problem "Unabel to Join Network" after i updated to ios 6 version. The ipad new was connecting to Wifi before i updated to latest ios 6 version, i tried hard rest, i tried changing the router setting as per the discussion forum, but no use, it still does not connect to Wifi. Can anyone please help on this issus ?, it looks like i am not only one having similar issue. I tried to restore it by connecting the ipad to my Mac, but is is downloading the latest ios 6 version again, not sure if the issues will resolve if i restore and update with latest version again. I would appreciate if anyone has any solution to fix this issue.

    Thanks

I have no problem at all connecting to my wi-fi. The only complaint I have is the maps program, now that will have to be fixed.

Kojenku, I tried all that you suggested but did not help in connecting to Wifi.  I tried all the following

    1. Tried resetting my iPad by pressing home button and swith off button.

    2. Rest the network, power off the router for a min and restart it and tried connecting to Wifi

    3. Change the channel in the router to "2" from "4" and other setting in it.

    4. Other few options that are in the discussion forum

Only option i have not tried is to restore it, itried to resotore the iPad but it was taking me to the ios 6 download site. Will try this opotion and will update if my iPad connects to Wifi.
