I was able to get my iphone and ipad 2 reconnected to my NetGear WNR834Bv2 router by going to the www.routerlogin.com and adding each device and their associated MAC address. After logging in, go to the Advanced area and select Wireless Settings. In the next window go to the Wireless Card Access List then click the Setup Access List. The next window opens up the current list of attached devices. If you don't see your iphone or ipad listed click Add and enter the deivce nickname and the MAC address for each device that isn't listed. Once all devices are entered hit Apply and then try to reconnect your devices to the WiFi network. This was successful for me and hopes this helps others.

I am also having problems with my iPad 3 wi-fi not connecting to various networks and it is really making me very angry. Previous to the IOS6 update, I could connect fine. It is appalling that I cannot connect to my works network yet others with iPad 2 devices and my iPhones can and they are all on the same software. Grrrrr

I don't understand why the new IOS 6.0.2 update is only for Iphone and Ipad mini and not for Ipad 2,3,4 when these ones are also having wifi problems.

i've opened a bug report, but there are tons of people who did it before.disabling encryption solves it,but it is not a solution!!not for such an expensice device as iPad

ok,i've fixed my problem by downgrading my roter Zyxel Keenetic to the old version which gives an option for WPA2 TKIP+AES and not TKIP/AES only.

I think if you can set up your router to WPA2 and mixed mode TKIP/AES it will be okay, because the problem is with one of them.

If you can't change it in your router settings - just hope for apple fix ((

This is a huge issue, that on the most expensive mobile devices we as customers are struggling to connect to mobile networks.  I am deployed and do not have control over my routers and cannot go adjust the firmware on them.  Apple please push an update to fix this.  My Android phone connects with no problems but my very expensive iPad will not.  This should be insulting.  As a customer I judge the likelyness of repurchasing products by the speed at which problems frustrating users are addressed and fixed.  So far its not just me who has been pretty upset with the network problems.  I have tried all fixes I can in these posts with no success!

Posted posted in those locations with no replies from Apple customer support.  Now been 2 weeks with no fix.  Double the suck is that is the iPad is where I get my newpapers, so those subscriptions are going to waste too.

Here is what I found. I have not had this issue with my iPad 2, but my 4S has been a nightmare. I attempted everything I could find on the net and noticed that the issue was not all routers using WPA2, but most commonly Netgear and only when using iOS 6. A similiar issue was occuring with my Apple TV 2 as well, but only when attempting to use Netflix when connected to the Netgear WPA2, switch to another router and there was no issue.

I decided to switch to a Mixed WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK signal on my Netgear DGN1000 DSL Modem/Router. The DGN1000 does not have an option for AES or/and TKIP. So I changed it to the Mixed setting and BAM! Everything is working fine now. On my G DSL Router WPA2 worked fine with everything, but I want to run N so I was determined to get the DGN1000 working properly with all my connected devices. I can't guarantee this will fix the problem for everyone, but give the Mixed signal a try. More than likely the 4S and Apple TV are running on the WPA at G speed and everything else is running N, but for now I will take it.

This has been a royal pain for many people, I will take the G speed until Apple decides to actually do something.

i have one suggestion that worked for me after hours of wasted efforts... i tried a hard reboot twice, turning off wifi, joining various networks... but for some reason, i was always unable to join our work wifi network. i finally just tried deleting the wifi password (stored on keychain) and re-entered the password to the same work wifi network, and boom. problem solved!

    Hi,

I have had an IPad for 3 months and it has worked on wifi from a BT home hub perfectly all that time.

Over Xmas we took it away for one day and on return it will not connect to the BT home hub but will connect to the btfon option which originates from the same router!

I have tried all the solutions suggested here to no avail.

A Samsung phone connects to the home hub perfectly so ruling out any problem with that side of it.

    Puzzling!

Gpuck16- Thank you for your suggestion! After struggling for months with connectivity on my iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and Apple TV and trying everything under the sun to solve it (including getting a brand new phone from a "Genius" who had no idea how to solve the problem)... your solution led me to a fix. I disabled WPA2 and enabled WPA2-PSK and everything works great. I was ready to throw in the towel, even as a super loyal Apple girl on her 5th iPhone. Thank you!

I had not read the reply from gpuck16. I have just switched my router to wpa-spk from wpa2-spk and it immediately connected. Thanks a lot!

i checked for updated firmware on the d'link dir-615 router back in september when this first happened (after the ios6 update) but the firmware was already up to date - although the last update was 2009.

    This was my first clue.

After further research, I discovered that all DIR series products have been discontinued by D'Link.  This means that when apple is preparing for a software update, it requests all software/hardware specs from wifi router companies like D'Link, Netgear, Garmin, Cysco, etc.  Since D'LInk no longer produces DIR series routers, they did not provide the info.  D'Link only provided info for it's newest line of wireless routers.

Leaving all existing DIR users in the dust, with a failed strategy that we'd all buy the new line of wifi routers.

Yesterday, I purchased an Apple wifi router, although pricey at $99, i plugged it in, typed the network name and pw want to use, and it was up and running in less than 5 minutes.  The apple router will recieve software/firmware updates just as my iphone, macbook, & ipad does. Everything is working perfectly, and the higher price is worth the convenience and reliability.

If anyone makes it this far, the only thing left would be to check with your internet service provider (comcast, RCN, etc) and make sure you have the most up to date modem.  some folks are unable to send text & pic messages on wifi using an out of date modem. (i didn't have to replace mine, but i'm also not having this issue now that i have the new apple wifi router.)

Hope this helps at least a few people out there.
