Download the YouTube app. It is designated for iPhone, but works quite well on the iPad. Presumably Google will be releasing an iPad version shortly.
Google made the app for iPad?
Youtube works fine for me on my new ipad. never crashes and runs fast. but yeah it is really annoying not having the app anymore.
A lot no doubt goes into Apple's design choices, but SOB, it is down right annoying when we lose functionality used every day after upgrading to "200 new features" -- 198 of which are without use to me.
The iOS is the "world's most advanced OS", unless you need an accessible file system, like spam filtering on your mail, or live on the wild side from time to time by viewing the occasional web page embedded YouTube video.
I can do less on my iPad today, than I could yesterday. I enjoy my iPad less today, than I did yesterday. Why?
Why oh why must Apple make the simple things so difficult??? They are masters at making the complex simple, yet insist on making the simple impossible! WHT???
Go to the Apple Appstore and search for, "Jasmine". It's free and a very good YouTube app.
That was just the iPhone Edition of it.
You Don't need to download anything ! Just open Safari then go to Youtube.com , Just HOLD and DRAG youtube icon ( address bar) into your homescreen ! That 's it
I'd like to think that there are plenty of features within the iPad which are extremely useful, and the omittance of the YouTube application really doesn't count as "losing functionality". If you'd like a YouTube application on your iPhone, simply search 'YouTube' in the App Store. It is free to download and should only take about 5 minutes depending on your internet connection strength.
Or, as AppleLy added, you can drag the icon from your Safari address bar onto the home screen of your device.
iOS 6 brought with it a lot of changes to the way we use Apple products, but I'll still stick to a system which is user-friendly and works over the confusing nature of a Samsung or HTC.

Yes, as I stated, it is the iPhone version. but it does work on the iPad.
I'm sure there must be an app that works almost as well as the old bundled app (which really wasn't all that great), yet in a couple of sessions searching, I've not found one.
Safari is not bad replacement, but no full screen viewing, and no directly accessible airplay button.
Not earth shattering, yet, two things I used all the time are now considerably less functional.
