Q: Siri's voice has changed after IOS 6 update

I have updated my iPhone 4S to IOS 6 however after doing this Siri's voice sounds like a robot and sounds more like the battery is running out compared to the previous clear quality voice prior to the update.

How can i change the voice to the clear voice again or is this yet another apple disappointment!

iPhone 4S, IOS6

I know it may not be working for everyone, but this is a follow up to my previous post.

I ran down the battery on my phone while at work till died completely.

I plugged it in to charge it. Checked Siri at about 44% and she still sounded odd.

After waiting for some time (it's now at 70%) checked again, and she's back to her old self.

    YAY!

"Glad to have you back Siri."

"Thanks. Now can we get back to work?"

    ^^^ yeah that happened. Ha.

After my experience with this and reading others I think people should try leaving their phones on the dock/charger attached to their computer for a good few hours or even over night in some cases.

i also experienced that siri voice change on both my iphone 4s and ipad 3 and it's quite annoying,, but after a fullday of usage i suppose siri on my iphone return to her beutiful voice i remeber that i use to hit the sync button several times on itunes then disable siri, reboot, then enable here that seems helped me, same on my ipad i just did the same thing this morning and it worked,,

She's back! I'm not sure what I did or when it happened as I had been checking Siri's voice throughout the day today, but all of a sudden this evening she is sounding like her old self again. She sounds much more crisp with a much better tone and inflection to her voice. It is good to have her back!

Same here... Nothing helped. She has no clue about her lacklustre voice either What is more she acts downright weird, slow to respond, less resourceful (oh yeah thats in my case), a total dimwit. Wish I hadn't updated iOS 5.1.1 with 6 on my 4s as new roll out seems glitch galore!!! My iPad 2 will stay firmly anchored on 5.1.1 until...

I'd suggest giving it more time. I ran my battery down to 4% yesterday and did a full recharge (in a wall outlet, not plugged in to my computer) and she was back to normal afterwards. Not sure if that's actually the solution, more likely it's just coincidence. One thing I did notice is that I did NOT have the "Compact Voice" option in Settings --> General --> Accessibility --> VoiceOver when she was sounding dull, and it IS there now. I checked multiple times yesterday for that specifically so I know I didn't just miss it. Seems like something must have been pushed out to the phone at some point to add that option and fix her voice at the same time.

    Hi Everyone,

I've had this problem before on my iPhone and now again on my iPad after updating to iOS 6 with Siri.

Here is the solution that always works for me.

    1) Plug in your iPad/iPhone via USB to your Mac/PC and ensure that you let itunes load up and that it recognises your device.

    2) Leave it connected and it charging for a while.

    3) Disconnect, try Siri again and it has always worked for me. Now I have normal Siri voive and not robotic.

Hope this quick fix works for everyone else as well.

PS. I am in the UK so not sure if it'll be different for other users?

Same issue, tried turning off then on, then siri off then on, then language change, then had a cuppa, tried again no luck, will now eat dinner & cry a little before cussing Apple for this & then I'll wait for it to be rectified.

I had the same issue but I just found out how to fix it after messing with my phone for about 8 hours since I'm snowed in my house lol.. Go to settings-General-Accesability-click on voice over-scroll down and turn USE COMPACT VOICE OFF-problem solved!! Make sure use pitch change is on) and after that is all set go to the main menu and reset your phone holding the home and power button down till u see an apple logo pop up.. This won't erase any memory or delete anything just a simple reset !! Thank you
