Cannot even press "download and install" for ios6 update

The update says it is only 650 or so MB, but underneath it tells me that 2.5 gb is required for download. I do not have very many apps at all on my phone, nor do I have a lot of pictures or music. Will I not be able to download the update unless I delete all of my things?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

Any music you delete can be resynced to your phone after the update. The same goes for your pictures, provided you have them backed up to your computer.
