Did turning off the safari cloud sync help at all?

Also, my dad and brother both have iPhone 4 as well have not got icloud at all activated, they have better than normal battery life D:

upgraded my iphone 4s to ios 6 and the battery is just draining like crazy.

have disabled anything that can be disabled, the brightness is set to very very dark.

even when not using the phone it is just eating battery.

hope apple will fix this problem soon and my advice, wait till you upgrade!!

So far I have seen the following 'fixes' (I say as such because they aren't a ubiquitous solution)

- disable all icloud ; primarily documents and data and safari

- disable location services

- disable 3G/edge/data in general
- disable siri

- disable notifications except for the main items of use; e.g. text/calls

- restore as a brand new phone

- go to preferences > devices > prevent devices from automatically syncing (on iTunes), plug your iDevice into itunes and wait till it appears in the lefthand pane.

Not sure if any of these work for sure, tried some, just putting this here in the event it helps someone at all 🙂

I can't seem to get it to stop trying to sync. I've turned off cloud syncing of Safari and restarted the phone but as soon as I kicked off Safari the webbookmarksd process started up / started crashing again.

When I turned off bookmark sycing it offered to delete my bookmarks and I said yes to this, but it hasn't deleted them and I can't delete them by hand.

I updated my 4s yesterday and the battery has been awful ever since. Iv turned off everything that I don't use and its still the same. I woke ap at 8am this morning and by 9am my battery had gone down to 76%! And all I had done was check my emails.

You know, it could be a corrupt bookmark that refuses to sync properly. Right before I updated to ios 6 on my devices I deleted all of my bookmarks (as suggested on another thread about battery drain on ios 5). That was the only change I made before installing ios 6. Seeing as how I altered two variables, deleting bookmarks and upgrading the ios, I cannot tell you which one fixed my problem. I am also not convinced the problem wont return, as it had appeared to go away in the past for no reason, only for it to return for no reason. I have tried every solution from reseting to restoring to turning features off to deleting my apps one at a time to weed out the corrupt one, and I could never pin point the cause of this battery drain issue. Apples response was for me to buy a Mac! What kind of logic is that lol. They gave me the same response when my itunes wouldnt find any of my mp3s in Windows. Off topic but my wifi itunes sync does not work on ipad 3 or iphone 4, common problem.

Yes, I think there is a problema with Safari and bookmarks with icloud and sync.

I tried everything ie I switched off all syncing options, notifications etc you name it! But the battery life is going down in light speed. The only option I didn't try out yet is "airplane mode".

TURN OFF LOCATION SETTINGS!!! My phone was hot chewing batt power turned off location and batt power is probably better than before Io6

If you are having the same problem as me with the webbookmarksd process then you will be able to tell by going to Settings -> General -> About -> Diagnostics & Usage -> Diagnostics & Usage Data -> and checking to see if you have hundreds of entries starting: "webbookmarksd…".

If I turn of cloud syncing for Safari this doesn't stop it trying to sync when Safari is running.

When I turn off Safari - removing it from the apps list at the bottom of the display this does not stop the webbookmarksd process from trying.

The only 'workaround' so far is to turn of cloud syncing of Safari, shut down Safari and restart the phone. If you then avoid using Safari the webbookmarksd process isn't launched and all is well for a while.

If you have XCode installed you can attach the phone and view the Console which lets you watch the errors occur in realtime. I need to somehow delete my existing bookmarks on the phone but all my attempts so far have failed. I tried deleting all the bookmarks from Safari and then manually syncing the bookmarks using iTunes but the phone cancels the sync.

Yes, I was watching with app System Monitor Activity and the webbookmarksd is always run. I´ve tried to delete the bookmarks but I couldn´t.

Sometimes the CPU is about 80% of use with everything close.

And yes, in diagnostic and Usage Date I see a lot of entries about webbokmarksd... It doesn´t finish ever.

If you use the plane mode, the problem stop 😟

Same problem here. I tried turning off just about everything and my battery drained 1% every 5 mins. I went from charging once a day to 3 charges yesterday after ios 6 update. What i did was just downloaded 5.1.1 for my iPhone 4s and restored it. It worked this is very time sensitive before apple unsigns iOS 5.1.1. I'm so happy now I'm back on 5.1.1. iOS 6 is a fail. Apple needs to address this problem. Plus fix the maps big time. I do have iPhone 5 arriving today, I will have to see how battery life is on it. If it ok I will just get another map solution. But if not I will have to return it because of ios 6. And keep my 4s.
