iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

I have a battery drain problem. Tried everything suggested. Finally went to Apple. They replace with brand new phone. Problem still exists. Stand by and Usage the same. Not all the time but most of the time even in stand by. I has to be IOS 6 not playing well with an app. The onlt thing I can think off is to remove all apps (other than the ones that come with the phone, see what happens, and then load them back on at a time observingt at each one

I found a fix that has definitely worked and I have been dealing with this since October:

I was taking my phone off of the charger at 7am. Using moderately or hardly through the work day and it would be almost dead by 9pm.

After making the changes I will outline, here is my new usage: I charged my phone in full yesterday at 2PM. It is now 24 hours later and I have 19 hours standby and 5 hours usage. My battery is still at 44% which is a major improvement.

What I did:

1. Turned off EVERYTHING in Notifications. You can still receive the reminders for all programs, they just won't cycle through the notification center.

2. Go into your MAIL settings and under FETCH NEW DATA then ADVANCED turn OFF the Cloud and Mail updates from Push to Manual. This is huge. NOTE: This is NOT the normal Push/Manual menu that most of you have already turned off. This is under the ADVANCED menu. Most people don't even see this setting. This setting decides how often the cloud/mail updates. If you leave it on push, it is most certainly draining your battery.

3. I also turned of Govt and Amber alerts, but might not be necessary.

4. I have my mail to fetch manually but that is a personal preference

1 & 2 seem to have been the culprits.

I hope this can at least help someone. It's not the battery life Apple promises, but having my phone at 44% 24 hours after charging it with quite a bit of use is big to me from what it was.

I agree to zoomzoompdx. Some of these solutions might work. But the phone should work with all its functions. It is just stupid to switch off all kind of automatic procedures. I read some of my email to late now because they don't get pushed anymore. My very nice and expensive phone just doesn't do what it should do anymore.

Apple do something... Give us the update we need.

Yes, I still get notifications the exact same way as before. This keeps them from going into the pull down Notifications Center which I never use anyway.

And yes, to the other response, I agree - turning off a lot of functionality is just a temporary solution. Makes you miss Steve Jobs who immediately responded to all of the users who had issues with the antenna. These issues don't seem to be addressed. We shouldn't be having to rely on fellow users for solutions.
