I don't know......I'm using ios6 on a 4s and the only issue I had was with push on exchange......I know lots of people on ios6 with a 4s with no problems at all.....maybe they just don't like you

tsalemme: disable all of your notifications, disable all of your email....does your battery still drain?

Same issue as many others, on IOS 6.0.1.  Over last few days battery started draining.  Full Charge last night 100% at 11pm, no Apps running, only normal 3g, Cellular data, home and work email sync, iCloud only on contacts and calendar (can't switch off as use phone for work).  7am, 62%, one hour later 56%.

My wife had same issue a few weeks ago, just started happening all of a sudden.  She now switches of 3G, and ceullar data and switches on when required.  Bit Pointless having a SMART Phone that is not very SMART.

They don't 'like me'?? really?? LMAO... ok then, that's quite the way to conduct a business, isn't it?  My phone is on warranty still, whether they like me or not, if there's an issue, it should be fixed, no? I have 2 4s's, both were fine before the updates, now they're pretty much useless. The 'manager' at the apple store even went as far as to suggest I get a charging case for my phone... now why would I spend even more money, out of my own pocket, for something that Apple messed up??

And, as has been said countless times on this thread, what's the use of having a 'smart phone' if you have to shut off all functions that drew you to that phone to begin with in order to ensure you have enough battery life to get you through the day? No point to it at all. I'm picking up a Galaxy III today and my very expensive iphone will be nothing more than a glorified ipod that stays in the truck connected to my stereo. Not impressed with Apple at all.

Removing Facebook app (but leaving Facebook messenger) and restoring to new fixed my iPhone 4. I guess turning off push notifications for all apps helped to. My phone can happily sit and lose almost no charge on standby.

I have had a 4s for over a year and no problems until the iOS6 update.  Before the update I could go a few days without recharging, depending on usage.  Then after the update I was only getting 6 hours max out of the phone. I went to apple store and they reset my phone.  I tried using it with no apps and all the proper settings off, still the same problem.  Got a brand new iphone 4s from them using mine to trade in.  Even while I was still in the store, before I set up the phone the battery was draining.

Then I had to make another appointment.  This time the guy was an idiot.  Very rude and told me there was nothing wrong with the phone where the battery was lasting only 6 hours or less and that I had to let it drain totally and then charge it to 100% 3 or 4 times and it would be fine.  Wrong!!!  Tried it and it didn't work, even with no apps and setting up as a new phone I still have the issue.

Weird thing is my bother has a 4s and he has no issues at all and has already updated to iOS 6.  We were sitting beside each other comparing settings and everything.  Watching mine drain while not using any apps and watching my brother surf the web and use his apps with no significant drain.  Very frustrating and disappointing.  Do I even bother making another appointment at the apple store?????

I'm really dissapointed with Apple on this issue, 127 pages of complaint but still we had these issues. at first my abttery is heat up and i cant even play the song for more than 3 hours. let alone to play the games or surf the internet or facebook. i have these question.. i'm still under warranty i bought the device on June.. but i lost the receipt can i still check it on Apple Store or replace it under warranty?.

  • flynny19 Level 1 Level 1

Apple will be able to tell if you're under warranty by the serial number on the phone, no receipt needed - at least that was the case for me.

  • JajaBinks Level 1 Level 1

ouh ok thanks.. i'll do that first thing tomorrow!

Fixed !!! Fingers crossed.. After problems since I got the phone a week ago ( posts on previous page) I seem to have resolved the battery drain problem by taking a tip from another thread about similar issues on the iphone5.

I had previously tried all the other tips on switching off virtually everything which didn't help.

    Battery drain Solution:

Close all of my apps (using the app switcher; double tap home, press and hold an icon, click the red close button)

Go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. (Does NOT delete apps or any data; just resets network/iOS settings)

    Wait for phone to restart.

Charge it up to 100% and monitor.

After doing the above and switching off wifi, most notifications, location services etc My battery life has improved massively.

Day 1 -  49% battery left after 24 hours standby and 4 hrs use, 3G on as we'll. Had my old android phone on at the same time and it drained faster than the iPhone without any service as no SIM card.

Day 2 - switched on location services for find my iPhone only. Charged again and overnight only lost 3% in 12 hours I'm still on 80% after 19hrs standby and over 1 hr use.

At last I can use my phone !! Just hope it lasts...

I have a 3GS and an iPad3. Had no (significant) issues until this last update. Now, both just sitting on my desk, WITHOUT being used, heat up and drain the entire battery in not more than 6-7 hours.

Problems and solutions commented in this feed, with my experience:

    - Safari bookmarks giving trouble, erase them --> I DO NOT use Safari, but Chrome instead.

    - Close all Apps, Location services, turn off 3G --> I might as well buy a Nokia 3310. It even withstands impacts.

    - Stop iCloud syncing --> I never turned it on, in the first place.

    - Re-install all Apps --> Seriously??? OK, I'll do it --> OK, nothing at all: 2 hours reinstalling everything (battery drained), turned OFF the phone, charged to 100%, turned ON the phone, drained it on standby in 6 hours.

    - Go to the Apple Store and get a new phone --> I won't comment on that...

    - Re-install iOS 5.0 --> Can anyone tell me how?

Only solution that has worked: leave these bricks in a drawer, go skydiving.

I seriously cannot take this anymore, 85% off the time my phone is on the charger. Bloody bullcrap that the only solutions are to turn everything off or reset, restart, re-install, restart again or even go back to an older update pfffft. I am not going to go to the Apple store to get a second hand phone (that I also have to pay a fee for) when mine was brand new and working perfectly for months til this damned update. Apple better acknowledge the problem and put out a solution/update asap because I am very close to switching to Samsung.

Currently use Iphone 4S on IOS 6. I noticed a notcieable battery drain which felt like every minute 1% when I browsed internet.  I fixed it by deleting the Facebook app and it actually improved my battery life almost 100%.

I first backed up my phone, reinstalled the most up-to-date OS. Started the phone without any apps to test which ones were killing my battery. Without facebook it actually stayed at 100% while I browsed internet.

I now use the facebook app through safari since it's pretty similar. I am down only to 50% by the end of the day.

Removing Facebook app hasn't made a difference for me.  I've tried every suggestion in this thread and today I went and got my phone replaced as its still under warranty.  If brand new phone still des it then no idea what I'm going to do.  Shouldn't have to turn off all my services.  A phone that costs over £400 should work perfectly.  Been an apple user or a long long time but now seriously thinking about going to a different kind of phone.
