Q: iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

Seriously.  If your phone is only 6 months old, still in warranty, and visibly doing this after 24 hours charging I am 100% sure apple will help you.  It could be a bad charging cable even.  Maybe your local store has issues and is not doing their job.  You should fill out the iphone feedback form at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and also call apple care toll free at 800 275 2273, from a pay phone if you have to.  I apologize if you already did this and I did not see.

Reset network, that will erase your battery usage and standby, call Apple tech, tell me you want them to run a diagnostic test. Make sure you get a case number and tech support says your battery is messed up. This way when you go to Apple they won't go against Apple.com.

Had to do this with my ipad mini....3 times!! Just to make sure it's not the battery. But it's not the battery...lol. It's the 6.1.2 and the rest before that!!

Apple removed my post, I'll say it again, if you haven't updated to ios 6.1.2 DO NOT update! If silly tricks worked for some that's good, while other like myself still have a battery drain problem. So I guess Apple is reading these because they removed my other post.

PLEASE FIX THE BTTERY ISSUE THAT A LOT OF US ARE HAVING! I don't think 6.1.3 will fix the battery. I'm not sure if Apple will ever fix the problem? You lost a long time Apple fan. I will not purchase anything Apple no more. 3 months ago was my last purchase of a iTunes card. I think I gave Apple enough of my money, and I'm not a rich person. I'm 40 years old, so I'm done with Apple. I always said you get a great product from Apple, sure it may be more money but its worth it. Not anymore.....:(    Very sad to see this company getting worse. R.I.P Steve Jobs. You did great things with a company that wasn't a household name, now everybody knows Apple. It's taking a turn for the worst. Smarting up Apple, or your Apple fans are gonna leave one by one....oh look just lost 6% typing this...so great.

My had my iPhone 4S updated to 6.1.2 and the battery drop from 98% to 80 % in 1 hour without doing anything ( standby mode) . Last apple product for me.

We complain about battery drain!! Sounds stupid, but is Apple really gonna fix this? I say no. Apple doesn't have a clue why our toys are draining so fast. I just hope they have a real team working on the problem! If not I guess it's goodbye Apple and find another company. Apple isn't on top anymore, this is a chance for other company's to come in and scoop up Apple fans.

Hope you fix this Apple, I'll make this forum go on forever!!!!!

They just don't want me to get people fired up. They are already fired up. You must read this, so read this, fix the problem you caused. Apple will be taking over one day. And your stocks are down.....again! Lol

We upgraded our operating system about 2 weeks ago to 6.1.2 and it has been nothing but misery. We have 2 iphones (4s and 5) both get about 2 to 3 hours on a full charge until they need another charge. Apple has been very unhelpful with this issue. I have pretty much told everyone I know that has an Apple phone or other product not to upgrade and the problems it has caused.  We are now at the point where in the next couple of weeks we will probably be purchasing a DROID, unless there is a fix.

My son has the Motorola razr hd.....no complaints. Battery last days and days. Told my ex NOT do get the iPhone 5. She ended up getting galaxy 3. Likes it better than the iPhone she had. Just return the iPhone, you'll be a lot happier. Check out the razr hd. Good luck!

Another one bites the dust....very sad Apple. Better fix these problems or you'll keep losing people. Enough said.

Everyone already posted but the more the merrier! My iphone 4S battery drains more than 10% per hour....used to be 3-5%

I just wanted to mention that I did not even use internet. (I was not using this phone since I was overseas, so I paid for a cheap plan with no internet just to keep my number)

So basically I spent ONE day with just phone service and no internet (until my new plan kicked in) and even like that the battery drained quicker than ever! That's just on stand by, not using the phone to talk. When I tried making calls it drained even faster. Absurd! As much as I love Apple being a designer and all...they never fix it and you are forced to buy a new product.

Way to make the customers upset!

Sorry to hear that. It's really *****. I think Apple just doesn't care...my ipad mini was so fun when I got it November 2nd, battery lasted days! Once that 100% is gone, my mini just starts draining. I can watch it go down every min. It's so freaking sad. I don't even care to use it. Play a couple games, check email, search the web and its dead, :(  I hate just hate how Apple is being like this, give you some foolish tip to fix the battery but it doesn't work!  Your right, they never fix it. Oh well...time to move on. Crash and burn.
