Sep 22, 2012 5:24 AM in response to abyssundergroundby AVRHack,Was it alright with 5.1.1 though? I use Latitude all the time and with 5.1.1 there was no problem but something in 6.0 is dreadful.

Sep 22, 2012 5:31 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by jehanv,Same thing here. Did the reboot like some suggested and it seemed to do the trick. What I noticed since the update was that I was always connected to wifi even if my phone was just on standby. Will keep an eye out for the battery again but rebooting seemed to help.

Sep 22, 2012 6:32 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Vertigo Performance,I installed IOS 6 and like others experienced immediate excess battery drain. Reading this thread this morning my IP4 dropped from 100% down to 95% in very short order.
I just did a reboot, the phone rebooted @ 98% and has since only dropped to 97%
It's as if the phone thinks the battery is dying and acts accordingly. All those with drainage issues check to see how long the phone takes to charge, maybe the battery isn't dying, the phone just thinks it is.

Sep 22, 2012 7:22 AM in response to Debrajoyq8by Vertigo Performance,What is Facebook integration and another thing, some menus went from list to icons or pages such as the APPs menu when looking for new APPs.

Sep 22, 2012 7:45 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by dbyone,Origibally upfraded from within the settings app on iphobe 4s OTA.
So far this worked for me.
1. Restored using iTunes and a fresh download.
2. Signed out of Facebook in the settings app( so no more tap to post)
3. Signed out if twitter in settings app.
Running beautifully. Not sure which of thev3 it was yet.
I will eventually try signing back into Facebook integration but for now I will hold off.

Sep 22, 2012 8:11 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Beetch18,I have also experienced greater battery drain then normal since the iOS 6 upgrade. Went through all the settings to ensure they are the same as before the upgrade and did a hard reset holding the home and power buttons down. Doesn't seem to have helped. Battery drain is not terrible just faster then before the upgrade. I don't know if this matters but with the Siri raise to speak off if I look at the sensor through a digital camera it is blinking blue. I looked at my wife's phone (she has not upgraded yet) and the sensor is not blinking. Could this be a source of the increases battery drain?

Sep 22, 2012 8:33 AM in response to Beetch18by SteveSean,It is no doubt that Apple has the IOS 6 battery issues with older iphone generations. My 3 months old Iphone4S was operating normal until I upgraded it to IOS 6 and I noticed the phone gots warmer than usual and the battery drained very fast while using the new 3D Maps app.

Sep 22, 2012 8:37 AM in response to SteveSeanby darkspark88,Yup. The heat is something I've noticed too. Normally my phone only gets this hot if I'm playing a game like dead trigger or heavily using GPS. Since ios6 however my phone runs hot all the time when doing any task. Deactivating twitter and fb integration made no difference to battery life

Sep 22, 2012 9:01 AM in response to MKM1874by ffried,Also did the upgrade via OTA. So did a full restore today. Wiped all data and set up a new phone. As far as I can say something yet, I would say that it hasn't helped. After iTunes finished syncing, I launched a bunch of apps for setting them up (and closed them again after I set them up). In half an hour my iPhone 4S lost 18%. Did a reboot now and haven't done anything special with it yet and the battery has only lost 1% in the last 20 minutes. I will post again tomorrow. Hope really this fixed it... PLS Apple fix this ASAP!!!

Sep 22, 2012 9:06 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Wahtoya,Ditto. Same settings but major battery drain. Will I never learn? NEVER update Apple software when first released!!! Of course they practically forced this update on iPhone owners. I am starting to think that Apple is losing it. Has anybody tried the new earbuds? I ordered two pair and THEY ARE AWFUL!! Awkward, clunky and uncomfortable. A definite misstep.

Sep 22, 2012 9:39 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Holeshot1982,Same problem here, battery ***** after iOS6 update on 4s... I've tried all the tips listed on this thread and nothing! I even tried downgrading last night but it appears Apple has stopped signing 5.1.1.1 so we're stuck until Apple gets off their *** and fixes it! How long will that take, a month!!

Sep 22, 2012 10:23 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Quyen Ha,My phone is still having the same problem; accelerated battery drain. There is definitely something wrong with the software. I think my iPhone 4S battery isn't actually draining this fast, but the phone is telling it it is. It charges back up to 100% faster than it did in iOS 5 which leads me to believe that the actually % the phone shows is inaccurate. Does anyone else think the same?
