Some how resetting worked for me :). But I did it at night and it was draining the same way for a while after the reset but then when I started using my phone in the morning the battery life is back to great

Same problem here - battery drain. I am running IOS 6, just upgraded NOT via Itunes. It drained from 66% to 42% in the matter of 1 hour, 1 long phone call (45 minutes) and that was it, the phone was in standby the rest of the time. I have tried turning off all location settings, Siri, notifications, I just reset it and am charging the battery to 100% right now. I will update once I do another test.

Same battery drainage issue here, OTA upgrade earlier this afternoon, dramatic battery drainage even when idle. Turned off all notification services, multiple resets, issue persists. Battery near dead now, will charge to 100% overnight. If issue persists into tomorrow morning, I'm restoring to iOS 5 from backup. This is just not reasonable. Edit: also will confirm Siri bug - proximity sensor on whenever screen is on, regardless of disabling or enabling Siri and raise to talk. Frustrating.

Let the battery drain out till 0% and then charge the phone for a couple of hours even after it shows 100% do it once every couple of months, you will get the max out of the battery charge.

If it still does not help then maybe the battery is long gone replace it, especially folks who have older iPhone's like 4 and 3GS, 4S guys might still be under warranty to get a free replacement. Don't wait go to a Apple service center immediately.

    Yup, draining quickly.

Will let battery drain completely dead and charge back up to 100%.

Yes. the Same here. the phone is warm. and battery drain very fast (compare to ios 5.1). Also I noticed that the auto-brightness response very slow. is there any way to reverse the ios back to ios 5.1?

I know I'm just adding to the chorus of complaints on the battery drainage with this new update, but the power drain on my iPhone 4 has been astounding since I updated it early this morning. In the course of chatting using one of the social apps, my battery power went down by 10%!!! I tried resetting the phone as well - prior to reset, it was at 47% and after the reset, it went down to 43%. Mind you, that it has barely been 6 hours since I upgraded to iOS 6 and my phone was charged at 100% at the time.

Update: I charged my phone to 100% and reset it (power down and turn back on). It is still at 100% after 1.5 hours, so I think the problem seems to be fixed for now. I do have all services basically turned off except the basic phone, and wifi. Siri, location services, notifications are all off.

Same problems here. Very fast battery drain and much warmer than usual. If I use maps while listening to music and charge it in the car the phone overheats and shuts down.

Hate to pile on but... Have been just browsing for 19 minutes and am down to 86%. Did a hard reset and no change. This could be ugly

Same problems for me, similar like when the 4S came out...

Same problem here..Downed to 50 % in just 3 hours. Disabled everything and did a reset. Now waiting for the result.

My iphone 4 is experiencing heavy Battery Drain. I am needing to recharge it thrice a day.
Also i am experiencing a buggy AppStore.

My 3GS doesn't seem to be losing power any quicker than normal, must be to do with the Siri sensor.
