Sep 27, 2012 10:07 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Rpfernan,After I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 my battery is draining at least 3 times faster than before. I'm not having the wifi issue. I reset the iPhone but it didn't solve the problem. Apple has to fix this problem soon. I've also noticed that my New iPad (only wifi) has the same battery draining problem after the update.

Sep 27, 2012 10:28 AM in response to Walker3000by jlarrabee,I have multiple problems with my 4S since the i06 upgrade. Battery life *****, wifi is hit or miss and many apps don't work even though they worked fine in 5.1.1.
Well I have found the solution to all of these issues, I ordered the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Well, if I didn't have another year on the ATT contract, I might very well consider switching back to Android. We all want a functional device regardless of who makes it. As long as the device:
1. is SUPPORTED
2. Receives timely UPDATES
3. WORKS as expected
then most customers are satisfied and will continue to come back for more.
Here's to hoping this and the other noted bugs are resolved quickly by Apple. I do want off 5.1.1 and would like to use the latest/greatest but they need to fix the release issues/bugs first.

Sep 27, 2012 11:42 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by Kelly Moller, did original install update with itunes and had horrible battery issues. Tried most of the suggested fixes found here to no avail. Finally yesterday broke down and reinstalled with itunes and set up as a new phone. SO far the battery life does seem to be better, but it is a pain in the a** getting things back to how i had set up. And fearful that as i get my phone back to how i want it that the battery issues will return.

Sep 27, 2012 11:50 AM in response to Kelly Mollerby alik57,Just to check back in..phone is still draining just not as bad. The thing I don't understand is, in my usage they are reading exactly the same on both USAGE and STANDBY even though I have been on the phone since the last full charge. Shouldn't those two numbers be different?

Sep 27, 2012 11:58 AM in response to alik57by dbyone,is this due to the new icloud tabs feature, can we turn that off instead of the entire safari block?
-
Sep 27, 2012 12:06 PM in response to dbyoneby alik57,I have iCloud turned off and I still have Safari on restriction using Google Chrome. I just turned Siri back on and have been turning things gradually back on. I only have location services turned on because of Find my iPhone, or I would shut that off too.
I last charged my phone yesterday afternoon and just stuck it back on the charger about 15 minutes ago, so I actually got 24 hours out of it...but I also have a lot less running than what I did on iOS5.1.1
No rhyme or reason to what's going on with it....just couldn't quite figure out if I was using the phone why my usage and standby time were reading exactly alike.

Sep 27, 2012 12:59 PM in response to alik57by homeflash,I have seen lots of posts about battery drain..Obviously, ios6 is draining battery. However, I wonder what is normal battery stand-by and use hours?
I took off sync to icloud and got it better. Better it was like less than 2 mins, I got 1% gone, now it is like 1% every 3 - 4 gone after use (regardless what kind of use, video, browsing, reading email)
Yesterday, I had it on and off use, it lasts about 24 hours. (Maybe the use time is about 2 hours total.. the idle seems pretty good, but once you use it, it drops like after every 3 to 4 mins.
I normally charge once or twice or three times a day regardless (before work and while driving )
I want to know what is normal to you and how often do you charge your iphone ? -

Sep 27, 2012 1:13 PM in response to homeflashby alik57,Yesterday and today I was on the phone at least 3 hours, if not more but my Usage was reading exactly as my Standby, 23 hours. I am only charging my phone once per day. Right now my iphone 4S is being used exactly as my flip phone with internet capabilites of years ago. I don't want to get caught short with a dead battery. Pathetic, isn't it that we pay all this money for phones and service when we could be paying 1/4 of what we are for some cheap, crap flip phone. Not happy!

Sep 27, 2012 1:30 PM in response to dickiesby JayCee65,As per disscussion with them today, they STILL state no issues reported. Called EVERY support channel available since my update on 9/22.... ***... New to Apple 9/7 (From Blackberry) and have an appointment Saturday morning with Genius. Either new phone with 5.1 or Android here I come. The reset and reload in itunes helps but still average 25 to 30% decrease in battery life minimum. Did the battery drain to zero and full recharge. Any unnecessary apps not running and/or shut off. Been reading all the suggestions. Below will be the results for the following: Mainly text and phone calls... Checked FB 2x ( 5 min. max) checked weather 2x, a couple of manual pushes of email, alarm 2x, a few settings checks, looked at a 4 min. video, and sent 2 pictures.... (Note: Prior same activity on 5.1- Still had 78% battery....)

Sep 27, 2012 1:36 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by ChicagoBubba,I love how people who don't know anything about their own iPhones, and then post here asking what's normal battery life. Seriously?!
-
Sep 27, 2012 1:44 PM in response to ChicagoBubbaby homeflash,ChicagoBubba:
Your post does not make you intelligent! On the contrary, it shows how foolish you are. People come here to ask for support.. Not to see sacastic statement you posted!! Seriously, if you don't want to give your opinion, shut up, no one would say you are dumb if you don't post anything!
Check back all the posts, people post how they use the phones. Normality is defined by how people use it. Some people charge once a day, some got new iphone, they of course don't know their phones... You are not helping, please don't waste time to post here...
